| St.Arnaud Hoe Down A Great Success
The event's four shows were attended by over 1200 people from as far afield as Lakes Entrance,Phillip Island, Adelaide, South Australia and Maryborough, Queensland. The seven section Talent quest, started on Saturday morning with contestants vying for cash prizes, a scholarship to Cameratta, to be held in Tamworth in July 2009, and the inaugural Robert Silva Encouragement award.
St.Arnaud sisters Jade and Jenna Greene were awarded 3rd place in the Open Duet section, a great effort considering their ages. Ellie Morrish, from Ouyen won the Robert Silva award.Cameratta scholarship winner was Jordy McMillian from Gippsland. Matthew Bright from Mt Glasgow won both Senior sections and now proceeds to the 2009 Champion of Champions along with the runner up Anna Williams
One of the new events of the weekend was the "Tug A Truck". The thrills and spills and clouds of dust held the spectators interest as teams vied for the $1000.00 prize money.The winning team the "Old Tugs" came from all over with the runners up team, "Thrifty" from Learmonth.We hope to see you all at next years event.
